upon return.
on a mission:
to see sights i'd not yet seen
and
to visit friends.
ziggy and i roomed together.
he snores.
he hogs the bed.
i love him anyway.
across the street from the thunderbird:
old bones lay resting in an old cemetery.
-- "no dogs allowed" --
zig posed to show
the size of the magnificent ancient trees
aligned with the sidewalk.
in "old town" pocatello:
a haircut
and
the works.
from there:
a hike at the dog park.
an invitation to dinner
with
friends
old and new.
the water gurgled as it freely flowed.
a walk
with
friends
both two and four legged:
the next day:
another adventure
to
the high country.
soaked the bones
at
lava hot springs.
pastoral scenes
along the portneuf:
another drive
in
another direction:
train whistles blew
day
and night....
spent a lovely day at plume gables:
****
anything
forced or misunderstood
can never be beautiful.
let it flow and love it.
****
zig slept
as
music played
all around him:
he was serenaded
by
voice
and
song
and
the tapping of metal.
my soul was fed
and
i returned to the airport.
my heart was full:
love.
joy.
peace.
understanding.
i return to my alaskan home
resolved to:
put pen to paper
instead of
finger to keyboard.
to be kinder and more loving and tolerant.
to hold close to my inner being
words that should not be spoken.
"the health of the eye
seems to demand a horizon.
we are never tired,
so long as we see far enough."
