my spirits were low this past week:
tears flowed freely.
my winged heart ached.

 something i read.
something i read:

the feeling associated with giving up something loved -
or at least something that is part of ourselves and familiar -
is depression.

 yes.
yes.
that is what i have been feeling.

for just a brief moment in time:
i was given opportunity to honour a wing of colour.
colour'd.
yet white and of silk on the underneath....

i dream, still, of holding onto that wing.

sorrow remains deeply embedded in my spirit:
the process of pushing away
jaggedly rips open my winged heart.

will i make it through this season?
yes.
yes.
i am strong.
i am faithful.

yet.
yet....i'm giving up so much of what i love....
so much of what is a part of me.

thanks for this Pencilfox, it helps me to not to feel so alone with my depression. i read the chapter in Care of the Soul on depression and thankfully it gives me permission. the hard thing for me is that nagging voice in my head that tells me i SHOULDN'T feel depressed I should only feel positive feelings. happy happy not saddy saddy..how's the moose?
