snow soul: feeling beautiful.

********
 those in the know say:
double-mindedness shows a lack of wisdom.

it's not double-mindedness.

it's wavering between:
believing what you say.
believing what i feel.

 do i love myself?
do i feel beautiful?

the wrestling comes mainly:
around those who use harsh words on me.

two sides of perfection:
neither is valid.

it is far kinder to tell myself:
i am okay.
i am good enough.

i can no longer just myself by your standards.

i am trying hard:
to make my words clear.
to not care if others hear me singing loudly.

sing it loud!!
i often wonder just why it is that we struggle so with accepting our own beauty and abilities as adults when children believe in themselves so completely.
i guess it means that we need to learn to be more childlike-- innocent, awestruck, and filled with wonder.
we need to amaze ourselves more often.
i am amazed by your beauty!!
