october blog-o-sphere: where would i like to go?
********
the topic for this month's blog-o-sphere post is
"where would i like to travel, take vacation, etc."
i've always wanted to visit iceland:
i am a child of the cold and the barren,
the dark and the snow.
i've always wanted to visit nova scotia:
the high-and-low tides and the wildness of the sea.
i've always wanted to visit scotland and ireland:
mamie heichelbech was of scot-irish descent,
and i have her blood in my veins,
her genes in my crystal lattice.
i have her looks and her love of pearls.
but, really....really....
i wish to be exactly where i am right now:
at home.
i'm taking holiday for a couple weeks.
it seems like i have taken much leave time from work this year,
but right now,
this two weeks, this is my time to spend as i wish.
i shall go to the city with a friend.
i shall sew, sit on the deck, visit the bookshed, rest, read, knit,
do some beading, and sew an apron for a friend.
i shall gather rocks, do some drawing, do much journaling,
and look deeply into my soul.
i'm living the good life.
right here.
right now.
and i shall peruse the posts of those who joined this month's
blog-0-sphere:

I can't believe I forgot Scotland. It's probably #2....
i think i am ready for the calm and the slow beauty of those places.
sometimes it takes a while for the right time to travel to a special place.
first i had to learn to love the crisp chill and the bite of the wind, along with the unhurried pace, the remoteness, and the raw exposure to the elements.
now... i do.
