into the wind.

********

twelve inches of heavy wet snow fell upon our hinterland on new year's eve.
our electricity went down twice within 24 hours.
mister pencilfox got his wish, for a wind to move in to blow the snow off the trees.
clear and sunny skies greeted us after a cold and starry night.
i knew that even with the wind, i'd be out on snowshoes today.

i've been deep in thought over the past day.
just yesterday
i received the news that i have a dreadful torn and sheared shoulder tendon,
the pain of which i have been denying for six months' time.
i'm rough and tough, have lived in a tent in -20F weather upon first moving
to pencilfox acres in the mid-80s,
i've sewn myself closed when sustaining lacerations,
and i laugh at those who curse the weather.
so i'm not going to let this get me down.
surgery was facing me, but i'm opting for physical therapy.
those of you who know me well know that i love me some good smelly essential oils.
so i'm slathering on the oils,
using a home-made arnica balm, a gift from sister mine,
and vowing to eat wholesome foods,
drink plenty of water,
and stay totally away from sugars.
except for honey, of course,
because this coyotegirl loves her some honey, to be sure.

i believe that anything can be accomplished with the right state of mind.
and lots of prayer.

life is good.

You could not have spoken it more perfectly! I agree with you wholeheartedly. I'm having to do much of the same for different reasons , , , for me goodbye white flour & sugar. Vegetables, cabbage juice, yoga, meditation, speaking/believing God's gift of health. So I also, pray you mend where you need to in your tissues & cells. I speak life and health to your blessed body. Amen.

Yer a tough 'ol Bear!! Maybe you should rub some of that Honey all over your shoulder!! Just joking.
I hope you get better very soon. So glad you are going with physical therapy. Movement. Strengthening. Easing your way back.
Maybe you could make yourself a rice & lavender bag. Zap it and keep heat on your shoulder at night whilst watching a good flick or reading .
Love,
Nurse Red Dirt
