march blog-o-sphere think tank: what inspires you?

********

life is a school where you learn how to remember what your soul already knows….

*

i am going through a world of changes right now:
early work retirement.
unrelenting physical therapy for a long-standing shoulder injury and surgical repair.
being awake during daylight hours.
learning how to occupy the same living space with my wee family.

i would have to say that what truly inspires me right now is
love.

this is not giving any credit to myself, except for learning how to open-up
and let the love in, let love flow out.
maybe this sounds so-very syrupy-sweet and corny,
so i'll try to explain how all of this ties into inspiration.

for most of my life, i was waaay too sensitive, taking everything personally,
not allowing others to have their own feelings and words.
i felt driven to be perfect, holding myself and others to
impossibly unattainable high standards.
i lost my sense of humour.
i forgot how to smile.

somewhere in january, in the first few weeks of physical therapy,
all this crazy emotional feeling broke through.
several friends explained to me what was happening within me --
blocked energy pathways were being opened up….

not only did i start feeling love for so many people
-- new acquaintances and old friends --
i began loving what i was feeling about myself.
i allowed myself to be imperfect.
i allowed myself to be the clutzy ungraceful person i am.
i allowed myself to be inspired by others, especially the friends who have stood by me
when i have been….you know….
less than a good friend,
not even a mediocre friend, if you want to know the truth.

i am a student in this school of life.

i am inspired to write what i feel about my own experiences.

i am inspired to be a good friend
-- and at the same time --
give others their space.

i am inspired to feel deeply and smile more.

what is this blog-o-sphere think tank?

my friend andes cruz formed a group of friends who blog from
all different areas of life, a once-a-month blog circle.
we all write about the same topic and post on the 20th of the month.
it is always fun and interesting to read others' posts, how they interpret the topic.
