sunday was cottonwood bud day.
the little pencilfox family gathered enough buds for ten jars of
bud-infusing into olive oil.

yeah.
this girl.
pinto wanted to help, so she began pulling buds off the fallen limbs.
problem was, she was pulling birch buds.
they sure must've tasted strange to her,
the way she shook her head with each pull-n-spit.

after the buds infuse the olive oil for about six months' time, i strain it and mix it with beeswax to make a salve for skin.
