a bit o' this and a bit o' that.
********
this o'l world keeps on turning.
thankfully, there are constants in my life, things i can count on,
like, for instance,
the sun rising and setting
and
perfect babies being born into this ol' world.
hallowe'en came and went.
i lingered on the day of all saints,
remembering sweet souls who have gone on from this sphere,
even my cat and my faithful dogs,
my momma and dear friends.
i count myself grateful and say so every morning when i wake.
i move on, a torn meniscus feeling better as i rest it
and don't let anyone else manipulate it,
easing back into a morning yoga practice.
i sat at the library, a fresh [or fairly so] babe sleeping in my arms
when i was supposed to be doing handwork with the group.
i turned the clocks back and enter the season of little-or-no sun for the next two months.
one would think mother earth had suddenly shifted and tilted
just enough
that we do not see the father sun above our mountains
'til he sets in the evenings.
*
these are the days, cold and dark days, days to hunker down
and knit
and sew
and read
and rest......
these are the days of living in the moment,
remaining present in each moment.
it's a good life.
