10/10/10. still. yet.

awoke at 1730.
decided on one more bicycle ride:
the cold and snow will soon put an end to my rides.

there's something about this day.
10/10/10.
just cannot get it out of my mind.

up the road.
walls of birches.

stopped to capture
a photo
of the railroad spike
settled into its own heart.

eska creek.
holy water.

eska mountain.

facing the downward hill.
just past my poetry memorization point.

hitting the hardpan.
[where would we be without oldtimer terminology?]

stopping to smile at *you*....

thank you for joining me.
soon the snows will be coming.
soon i must put *blue* away for the winter.
but:
soon i will see you again.

so glad you tagged along, mona.
bicycle-riding at +44 is good practice for snowshoe'ing when it's -20.

[yesterday's quick WHEEEEEE down the hill brought to mind my early days of dog mushing in the freezing-cold weather. should've checked the windchill last evening....(smile)]
