trees.

our property
of 5+ acres:
terraced.
hilly.
tree-laden.
in order to build a road to the awesome upper terrace
where we hope for
a
house with a view
many trees must fall.
we hope to gain access
to a view
that will knock your socks off.
a view that will drop one to their knees
in prayerful thanksgiving.

i weep just a little for the trees that are falling.

one of my dearest friends
tells me:
quit your crying.
o dear girl:
if you were here.
you would cry with me.

i'm not going to lie to you:
don't expect me to *not* feel.
don't expect me to *not* cry.

in return
i will give you:
trust.

because i know you make me smile.

because you hold my heart in your hands
and
because
you love me.
because
you want only the best for us.

i get by, this way.

woodland creatures do their circle dance....

....while my heart pours out
to this
majestic old tree.

a queasy aching seeps through my bones
but
i have to tell myself:
trust.

thank you for visiting, vita.
it was a sad yet lovely day: dealing with falling trees but hoping for that road to my favourite part of our property....
