last evening:
book club.
ziggy attended.

we didn't have an assigned book this month:
we each brought a poem or a book and presented our readings to the group.
even ziggy had a poem to present.

the past few days' mix of emotions ganged up against my soul.
last evening, soul won out after mind and ego met the impasse.

quite frankly, i'm so tired and weary of having to feel anything other than
allowing others to live their lives as they choose, as they must.

soul spoke to heart last evening:
all of us have a bit of damned darkass meanness in us,
and all of us have a bit of love and light in us.
which do you choose?

what do you think?
which do you think won out?

postscript.
a dear dear friend wrote in reply.
"....to let those people continue on their paths of hate and destruction of others is a huge mistake...to let them live however they want, to the detriment of others' LIVES is a mistake and perhaps cowardly, as well...."
i'm rolling her words around in my heart, and pressing them
into the cracks and crevices of my spirit.
there.
so be it.

Love. Always.
Though sometimes it's a bit frightening and discouraging how easy it seems to choose otherwise. When the soul is tired and ragged, how much work it is to choose light.
Shine on, you Alaskan diamond.
