chaps.

just to help this book feel distinct and preferred, just to change my slant and standpoint, 

i decided to have it permanently library-covered. 

that way, i don't have to treat it like it is too delicate to handle and read. 

even though i wanted it to feel special, i wanted it to feel like an old friend, 

like it was wearing its favourite chaps before climbing on a old scrubby horse

to go for a ride. 

now i can read and not have to be too careful.

used to be, in the past, a librarian would do this for me. 
but. i've asked too many times, now. 
and. i've watched too many times, now. 
it's time to cover my own books. 

"sure, marie....come on back behind the counter and i'll lay out what you'll need...." 

i'm sure that my efforts to take this task on by myself

gives the librarians a chuckle, my struggling for figuring out

which way is which

which way is up

which way is right-side down

and then my refusal to use the normal clear book tape

 because i have flowery washi tape i wish to use.

just helps the books to be even more special, don't'cha' think?

[don't worry, nancy....when i retire and volunteer at the library, i'll use the correct tape.] 

life is good. 

and so much fun....
