pensing and pondering.

 ********

i woke this morning with muddied feelings,
yet with clear thoughts and a path lay'd out in front of me.
after spending time with my 88 year old alaska mom
and my 90 year old alaska dad,
i wonder....i truly wonder....if they aren't the wise ones,
doing their best to get through each day with what is directly in front of them,
a book in hand, a cat in lap, real love shared heart to heart.

life is good.

Oh. Marie b. Goosiebumps here, after reading that.
My Sunday morning call to my mom and dad in Cali. I hear through their kind and cheerful voices, the same. Living for today, grateful for one more. No worries. They've been there, done that. Joy in the simple things. Reading, walking, being.
We are the lucky ones. x

wise. hard to define.
constantly changing.
the longer i live on our farm,
the longer i am retired,
the more i shift towards the wisdom of simple values.
i just needed to journey a long way before arriving here.
