how i describe colours: august think tank.

********

this month's blog-o-sphere think tank topic:
describing colours.

there are scientific explanations for colours:
the spectrum of light physics,
wavelengths and human eye sensations.
transmission.
emission.
brain perception.
all that.
you know??

but i do know this:
i must have colour in my life.

allow me to explain....

the colour of summer in alaska.

this was one of my favourite colours when i was young.
i had a colour pencil with
helio
imprinted on it.
that colour pencil must've drawn me to alaska....

garden colours.

****

colours of the forest floor.

****

colours of friendship.

****

the colour of rain.

****

deeply rubrous beets leaving their imprint on my hands.

****

tangy citrus, colouring my tastebuds.

****

the colours of the creations of my own hands.
the colours of my soul.

****

the colour i chose for my daily ride to town.
my mango-tango neelie jeep.

****

the colours of winter.
the colours of my favourite time of year.

****

the colours of love.

****

colours.
so very difficult to describe without the language of science.
all i know is this:
i must have these colours in my life to feel alive.

Such a colorful life. A soulful palette. (Do you also like the color of those cheezies?)
I'm so grateful to be a part of it. To know you, is like having a rainbow as a friend.
Love!

ah, yes... color.
it's imperative.
once in a while i'll look at a photo of a studio or a living space with a very zen palette and orderliness and remark on how much i like it, whereupon my daughter reminds me that nothing in my life will ever look like that, certainly not for more than 15 minutes.
she's right.
i live a life layered in color.
and that's a good thing!

yeah.
agreed.
i have to have the chaos and the colour.
to think.
to create.

we are kindred.
