just a few things to say.

********

1.
when i am the only human in the house, as i was this past week, i don't often speak.
i may sing, or dog-talk, or meow, but i don't often speak.

2.
the so-label'd christmas cactus decided to bloom early this year.
the past couple of winters, the bright fuschia-colour'd flowers appeared late november.
this year, the blooms started popping at the end of october.

3.
we're having one of those winters, so far, much sunshine, moderate temps, no snow.
the ground needs snowcover.
i need snow.

4.
sometimes i feel so….overwhelmed….so then i go outdoors,
into the cold starkness of this hinterland property,
take a few deep breaths, practice some gratitude, and then life is all better again.

5.
a cup of hot tea, sweet with honey and lightened with cream.
lovely thick smoothies, frozen fruit and almond milk, protein powder.
nibbles of salmon, dressed with home-grown thyme.

*

life is good.

I love days like that. All alone. Animal convos. Deeper thinking, when you're by yourself. It's the quiet shuffling of the feet going from room to room. Time for tea.
Here, it's been snowing for two days. Our high today is 8. I know you appreciate the snow more than I. You would love the look of it outside, Bernard!
You'll get yours. ;)

Life there sounds really rather lovely. We both crave snow right now, I looked at the rain/snow/flurry mix this morning and wanted it so badly to change to fat, fluffy flakes. Have another cup of tea, send another prayer on the breeze, give Milo some cat nip. It's all good.
