a day in the city.

********

i had been in the house way too long
leaving only to be driven to town for physical therapy.
this morning, i was beginning to feel human, wanting to get out of the house,
having an appetite for food and company.
mister pencilfox drove me to the city,
and we went to cabela's so that i could find a new jacket or sweater
to wear under this cumbersome sling on my R arm.
i suppose i'm just not the shopper i used to be.
i mean, mom used to take us shopping every saturday,
and we'd walk the sidewalks of cape girardeau,
going into every store, trying on clothes, almost always purchasing something.
nowadays, the most i can do for shopping is walk into a hardware store
and purchase only what i went in there for.

i'd just about had it with the big store, today.
i felt like crying, or laughing hysterically.
finally, i found refuge in cabela's fish tank tunnel….

it's a good life, you know.

happy easter to all who celebrate it in whichever way you celebrate it….

Shopping IS tedious. So happy when an on-line purchase pans out perfectly. lol

Shopping (any kind) is my least favorite thing to do. But, did you find a sweater to wear under your sling, to keep you cozy while roaming around your grounds, planning your garden, or talking to the Ravens.

when i feel good, i like a good basic hardware store.
but, saturday, just beginning to feel good, i couldn't take much more of cabela's than finding one jacket. and the fish tunnel. it revived me.

I'm not a shopper, either, but having spent time in confinement due to injury I'm equally not much good at that! sometimes it's a must to GET OUT, and finding something is a bonus. personally, I love going to our gardening center and staring into the koi pond. glad you're mending to the point of cabin fever-- that's a good sign!

i wish we had a koi pond somewhere up here. the closest thing is the fish tank tunnel at cabela's.

but….i'd bet you are good at shopping for equine supplies!! you've proven that to me!!
