All this and a Saturday, too.

Today is a much better day than yesterday.
Not that yesterday was a terribly no-good awful fucked-up day.
It's just that so many things sat sideways all day Friday, and try as I might,
I could not change a thing.
One might say
I was in it for the lessons.

It helps that I have determined how to keep my brain less foggy
by keeping my glucose levels in "low range."
Advise on how to eat rolls in from all corners of my world.
I have tried all suggestions, but the best thing for my body is to follow what I heard
in a TED Talk on Diabetes Management:
Do not consume it if it says "lite" or "low fat" or "fat free."
Eat food - REAL food.
Don't eat anything you don't like.
Eat when you are hungry - don't eat if not hungry.
No GPS - no grains, no potatoes, no sugar.

I have to stick to my guns on this.
This is life or death for me.
That's how I see it.
Life.
Or, Death.

Today I crossed paths with an old friend.
It was good to feel the comfort of like-mindedness filling the physical space between us.
It was like spit-splicing yarn, it was.
There we were, talking like it really hasn't been that long a time
since we shared our thoughts and feelings and what's going on.
That, in itself, added to this being a very good day.

The morning's low temperature was 36F/2.2C.
Not-winter will soon roll into winter.
Not only could I feel it when I woke,
I could see the change in seasons as I sat up and reached for my bottle of oil
with which I bless the day and bless the wishes I have for the day.
Little Custom Bottle of Oil was milky in her appearance,
so I knew that where she sat on the windowsill,
she picked up the chill of the night.

*

And then I came home to check mail.
In it was this simple meaningful lovely card.
It was just what I needed.
The Universe knows.
I just have to pay attention and listen.

My heart still grieves the absence of its Mirror.
Sometimes the empty hole is so deep that I fall into it and cannot find the edges
nor is there any sort of light above me.
It doesn't help that this summer, the garden peas are slower in filling their pods.
It's like the garden misses its Pea Whisperer just like my entire being mourns that loss.
I know he is watching over us all, here.....
I feel him,
I feel his presence,
I feel the thin veil separating us.
Tu me mangues.
You are missing from me.

*

So, I'll end with this:
once again, stars are visible in the night sky.

How could the day get any better than this?

*

It's a good life.
