funky praying.

i'm not one of those eternally positive and happy people.
oh how i envy them, though.
i was born into a melancholy state
and
sometimes i just have to let it all be
and
let it all pass.

this particular bout of
low spirits
and
heaviness of heart
hung on for a couple of days.
more like:
58 hours
16 minutes
and
some odd seconds.

these days that passed me by:
i was a log
chuting through the rapids
only to end up stuck on the gravel.

so:
i prayed for a way out of this funk.
i prayed:
help me help me help me help me.

funny how prayers are answered.

so no sooner had i drank my morning tea
did mister pencilfox say
"let's go fishing...."

we loaded up our best friends
and
the fishing equipment
and
drove northward to bonnie lake.

pinto and ziggy intuited my darkness.
they showed me the humour in fishing.
ziggy leaped and hopped through the grasses
and ran to me
touching his wet feet to my legs - "how are you right now?"
every time pinto saw my bobber come
reeling back to shore
she thought it was a ball she had to catch.
plus:
she's quite obsessive about fish.
she LOVES fish.
she shakes and quivers
and
leans
pulsating
trembling
over the side of others' boats
as they pull up to shore:
she is planning how to steal their catch.

i found my voice
and
i was able to say with great humility and gratitude:
thank you.
thank you.

Lady Fox,
I am sooooo happy that you found your solace in the things around you. Such a relief. You are not alone.
I love the sincerity and courage with which you share what's close to your heart.

Weeks of living with a sprained ankle have led me to funky town.
Where have all the endorphins disappeared to?
I think I found some of them in the 4 large chocolate bars I ate all to myself this week! Haha!

Thanks for this post!
I'm going to do something out of the ordinary tomorrow!!!!
Hope you have an amazing week!!!! You deserve it. xo
