solstice half empty.

you've heard me say it before:
i'm a melancholic glass-half-empty sort of girl.

don't get me wrong:
i have very pleasing and happy moments in my life.
but for the most part:
i'm not one who is always smiling.
i pay attention to what i feel on the inside of me.

so nothing gave me greater pleasure
than when a friend said to me:
i allow you to feel your emotions because that's you.

so:
on this solstice afternoon
i am reading all the cybercomments about
summer just starting
and
months-ahead of beach parties
and
living it up.

i am thinking:
summer solstice.
the daylight decreases quite exponentially
from this day forward
'til we see winter solstice.

i do have much to look forward to these next couple of months:
gardening.
fishing.
strolling around the yard.
hiking the hillside.
furnishing the book shed cabin.
a visit from a friend.

so with that:
my summer is now half full.
