visiting the hillside.

********

even though there is not much snow, i had to clamp on the snowshoes
and get out there, climb the hill, tramp down a trail.
easy climbing: no need to tightly hang on to the poles, so i pretty much carried them
'til steadying was required, knee-deep drifts testing balance.

pinto gladly tagged along and jumped in and out of piles and drifts.
there's nothing like the quiet of nothingness, listening to birdsong and wind
and the crunch of crampons on snow.

with a twisty spine comes twisted thinking.
i am in tune with my aging body and am constantly reminded
the only way to get through this life is to talk myself out of one mood into another,
and to breath in, breathe out, exhale slowly.

reminding myself:
life is good.

yes, i find i'm actively self-talking my way through a lot of things lately. quite frankly, it helps. i'm much better at recognizing when my thinking isn't helping matters and what i need to do to turn it around. now... i just need to back it up a notch and keep those thoughts from racing crazily toward those slippery slides before they get started.
whoa, nelly!
yes, life is good.

Twisty spine's aren't good, twisted minds are wondrous! It makes us who we are, we are thinkers, we are innovators, we are special folks who have an abundance of goodness inside =o)
