These are the days. 

Staying present in each moment of each day. 

Housekeeping. 

Snowshoe'ing. 

Knitting. 

Raising up a new Doggie. 

It's how I do.

Have you seen the TV commercial - ? - where the woman is running in the rain, 

carrying her very limp dog, 

and when she arrives at a crosswalk an onlooker asks 

is he OK?

and the woman replies 

oh, yeah....he's decided he's done walking for the day. 

Well, that's how it is for Berry. 

He's decided he's done walking for the day. 

Especially when the temperature is low enough he can feel the cold 

through his tiny itty-bitty feet. 

He knows that old leather rucksack is his now, 

that one I bought years ago for $10 from an ad in the back of some old magazine. 

I place the rucksack on the basement floor

and although he cannot enter it without assistance, 

he surely can sit on it and claim it as his ride up the hill.
