leaning in.

********

yesterday, i sat in the back seat of the big ol' dodge truck as the pencilfox family
pour inclure brother to mister pencilfox
took a trip into the big city.

i was part of the pack:
pinto. ziggy. me.

i stayed plugged-in most of the trip:
to.
from.
knitting.
tunes.
pema chodron.

when i felt too-closed-in-on, i sang.
sometimes i sang to the songs on the radio or the music filtering through to my songcenter
via earbuds from the tiny ipod shuffle.

sometimes i just have to wrap around the closest stronghold, like the sweet pea vines.
lean on the rock, so to speak.

life is quite grand.
most of the time.
when not-so-wonderful as per my perception,
i lean into the difficulties and choose to change my outlook.
