this is how my garden grows.

certain plants are faring well in this hot dry alaska summer.
this year.

the lettuce does not appreciate hot-n-dry,
but the patty pan squash and the garden flowers are lovin' it all....

and thanks to the queen of green i am having a nightly affair with
sauteed kale-n-garlic....

life is so very very good.
and green....

What you forgot to plant is giant sunflowers!! They don't need nothin' but sun and heat, and the birds love em and you could be sitting on your deck, eating seeds, spittin' out the shells, saying to th' mister, "ain't life grand". Pttuuew...
I'll send you some next spring.

did not plant them because the typical alaska summer does not allow for full growth and seedhead formation. one never knows ahead of time.
't'would be nice to sit on the deck and spit shells while saying "ain't life grand...."
