brandi's patty-pan dance was quite effective....

flowers from seeds sent by my red dirt girl....

i've been clearing out the guest room for company. 

i would not do this if a girlfriend were coming for a visit. 

but mister pencilfox's brother is coming for two weeks' stay. 

pinto and i share the guest room:

she sleeps there, and i store all my yarns and needles and girlie antiques in there. 

and the wolf rug i sewed many years ago. 

[i moved things out to my bookshed....where i can have girl-time with my yarns and the wolf rug.] 

pinto was so dismay'd by my moving out "our" things, she vomited. 

she's been watching me very closely since this process began early in the weekend. 

i think she thinks something is going to happen and it ain't good....

to get away from all the housework, pinto and i went up to the garden. 

everything is growing very nicely. 

there are too many patty-pan plants and not enough flower plants. 

next year, a better balance.

trapper is being rather finicky this summer. 

last year, no dandelions or clover. 

this year, yes dandelions and handfuls of clover. 

he'll even nibble on clover rather than his berry-flavour'd yogurt treats. 

today a girlfriend came calling, and work was put on hold so that we could visit. 

it's been too long since we have seen each other. 

she brought me a little gift from her vacation, lots of love, and a good hard hug. 

life is so dang good....
