a farewell of sorts.

this morning we woke to our first snow. 

my happy heart sang loud and long. 

winter is here!

little carnelian jeep wore her frosty coat to town

and she wanted everyone to notice 

hers was deeper and brighter and more crystalline than the rest.

a quick stop at the bookstore 

and the espresso stand for a chai. 

just in that brief amount of time, 

the bright sun melted my beloved snow.  

the garden called to me once i stepped foot home

on this alpine hinterland soil.

mister pencilfox came looking for me:

"you were up there so long that i became worried." 

really. he knows better. i was safe. 

i was just saying my goodbyes to the garden. 

life is good. 

life is most definitely wonderfully good.
